Moscow suspends application of migration law

14 February 2007 [09:10] - TODAY.AZ
Moscow government made a decision on suspending the application of amendments to the migration law, which came into force on January 15.

Russian Azerbaijanis Congress Moscow department chief Ilgar Hajiyev told the APA that the reasons of this decision are price rises, Russian citizens' disinterest in vacancies and discontent with the new law.

"Heads of big markets and trade centers in Moscow had a meeting and stated that the markets lose their importance after the application of the new law. As a way out they think that migrants should return to their jobs. Trade centers' chiefs consider that migrants should be allowed trading. Taking this into account Moscow government suspended the application of the law," he said.
