Former Health Minister to stand trial Feb.15

The materials of the criminal cases against Azerbaijani former Health Minister Ali Insanov, former Health Ministry Pharmacology and Medical Equipment Department chief Akif Maharramov and former International Relations Department chief Aleksandr Umnyashkin have been submitted to the Court of Grave Crimes.

Judge Faig Gasimov will preside the trial. The preliminary trial will be held on February 15.

The above mentioned officials were arrested in 2005. They face the charges of abuse of power, bribery, embezzlement and some other crimes.

The arrest of Akif Maharramov and Aleksandr Umniyashkin was commuted to house arrest. At present, Ali Insanov is detained in National Security Ministry's detention ward. APA
