3197 car accidents killed 1027, injured 3606

As a result of these accidents, 1027 died, 3606 injured. The number reduced compared with 2005. 1403 of the accidents were pedestrian knock over (43.9%), 1103 crash, 315 car turn over. 92.3% (2952) of the accidents happened because of drivers' fault.

43% of the accidents are connected with driving at high speed, 22.3% overtake, 7.7% violation of crossroad rules, 3% driving being drunk. 108 children and teenagers died, 362 injured in car accidents. 65 of the dead, 214 of the injured are pedestrians.

221 of the dead, 928 of the injured are women. Out of 3197 car accidents 389 were committed by the bus drivers. 114 died, 539 were injured during these accidents. 71 of the accidents committed by bus drivers happened because of pedestrians’ fault, 39 because of bad state of the streets.

745 violations of traffic rules were recorded during this period. This is 52.9% more compared with 2005. Over 20 000 of the violations of traffic rules were committed by drunk drivers. 152 drivers were fined immediately, 2839 were deprived of drivers' license, APA reports.
