Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society received 218 appeals in 2006

Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) received 218 appeals on searching documents lost during conflict and family members.

81 of the appeals asked to conduct searches inside Azerbaijan, an official of the society Afet Mirzazadeh told the APA.

44 of them are on migration, 5 on missing people during World War II, 9 on missing people during conflict, 5 on searching of the documents lost during World War II, 1 on searching for aliment's payment, 2 on Nagorno Karabakh (as ARCS is not engaged in this sphere search is conducted by ICRC), 7 on searching the documents on conflict, 5 on migration documents. 137 of received appeals were made from foreign countries. 100 of them are on migration, 21 during World War II, 1 missing person as the result of conflict, 4 during World War II, 3 on dispute, 5 on searching documents lost as result of migration, 1 missing person as the result of repression. Mirzazadeh said that 226 of the searches were completed in 2006. 76 of searches were conducted inside Azerbaijan. The society conducted 148 searches abroad. 23 people were found as the result of the searches. No information received about 48 men. 47 of searches of missing people during World War II were fruitless, 3 of them were found. One of the missing people who lost as the result of conflict was found. During the mission ARCS cooperated with Interior Ministry, National Security Ministry and State Archive under the Cabinet of Minister.
