Azeri reporter arrested in Georgia to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights

Gadjar Huseynov, reporter of Yeni Dushunje newspaper published in Tblilisi till 2004, is going to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

His documents are ready and will be sent to Strasbourg in a few days, editor-in-chief Niyazi Huseynov told APA.

He said that Georgian Human Rights Documentation Center chairman Ucha Nanuashvili, engaged in right defense of newspaper stuff, doesn't rely on Georgian courts. The chairman believes that European Court will defend the reporter's rights.

Gadjar Huseynov was arrested in 2004 and sentenced to 5 years in jail.
