Azeri woman engaged in drug trafficking detained in Turkey

Great deal of drugs was confiscated as a result of operations carried out by Turkish police in Izmir, APA reports.

12 were detained on the fact. An Azerbaijani woman is among the detainees. The woman was detained with 500g cocaine, which cost $400 000 in black market. The woman was a kind of courier who brought the drugs from Istanbul to Izmir.

Two more were detained and 2.5kg drugs were confiscated from them. Basing on the testimonies of 3 detainees, the police arrested nine more. Out of 12 detainees 3 are women. The leader of the gang is the owner of a restaurant in Izmir.

450g cocaine, 270g other drugs, 4 illegal arms, 30 cartridges, 2 bowls of ammoniac, 51 mobile phones, 4915 Turkish liras, EUR170 and the equipment used for cocaine. 10 of the detainees were arrested, 2 were released on bail, APA reports.
