CEC holds next meeting

New members of the commission were given certificates. CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov wished the new members good luck and stressed that their objective activity will have a positive influence on the commission's activity.

The protocols of the CEC meeting held on October 25-30 were approved at the meeting. There were changes in the composition of election constituencies in  Binagadi I # 9, Azizbayov # 13 I, Narimanov I # 19, Guba #52, Gebele #116, Devechi-Siyazan #54, Neftchala #61, Binagadi II #10, Nizami I #24. Panahov said that CEC is specifying the voters’ lists and the exact list of voters will be placed in CEC site in late May. He also said they finished the monitoring in 65 election constituencies and added that they will conduct monitoring in other constituencies. The Commission chairman said that the problems emerge during the monitoring will be removed.

As to the election of the commission members representing the parliamentarians in minority, the chairman said that it depends on the commission members themselves.

"We will discuss it, when they appeal to us," he said.

Panahov said that additional election will be held in Yasamal III #17 election constituency by the end of the year.

The leader of National Unity Movement, Lale Shovket Hajiyeva refused her mandate after being elected from this constituency and it became necessary to hold additional elections there. APA
