Mountain Jew killed in Moscow, motive unclear

Police are investigating the murder of a Mountain Jew in Moscow.

The man, a native of Krasnaya Sloboda, Azerbaijan, disappeared on his way to pick us his son at a kindergarten a few days ago. His body was discovered on Parkovaya Street with stab wounds. Reportedly, he was not robbed, a fact that, if confirmed, could point to antisemitism as a motive, according to a December 31, 2006 report by the AEN news agency.
