Supreme Court grants verdict on Al-Gaida members arrested in Azerbaijan

Trial of 15 Al-Gaida members accused under the Articles 120.2.3, 120.2, 279.1, 228.3, 315.1 and others of the Criminal Code was held in Supreme Court today, detained Arif Hajiyev's advocate Elman Osmanov stated.

The court presided over by Muzeffer Agazade granted the verdict on Al-Gaida members, APA reports.

Gang composed of Azerbaijani, Russian, Turkish, Yemenite citizens trained in Pankisi camps, Georgia.

They are found guilty in terror acts, carrying arms, Nesimi Police Department officer Movlan Alibeyli's assassination etc.

By Grievous Crimes Court verdict gang head Hajiyev Arif Hasanbeyovich was sentenced to life-term, Hajiverdiyev Emil Adil oglu to 10 years, Hamdan Mohammed Ahmed Salem, Chankayev Gadji Ibrahimovich, Abdulkerimov Abdulla Magomedovich and aliyev Shirin Sedri oglu to 7 years, Berkov Aslan Hesenovich, Lslamov Isa Azrailovich, Abdulhemedov Karanay Zaulbasarovich, Gaziyev Arsen Yunusovich, Asadullayev Jembek Junaitovich, Delibashlar Mustafa Ahmed, Inan Emin Ahmed, Hayal Seljuk Husnu and Karakash Juma Shikhimam to 5 years in jail.

Gang member G. Chankayev, extradited to Russia, was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in jail by Dagestan Court.
