Iranian scientists and ex-president of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences appeal to President for Ali Insanov's release

22 scientists of Tehran universities and scientific centers, as well as Valentin Pokrovski, ex-president of Russian Academy of Sciences appealed to the President for ex-minister of Health Ali Insanov's release from prison, ex-minister's lawyer Togrul Babayev stated.

The appeals ask to commute Ali Insanov's sentence, taking into account his services and innovations in medicine.

The minister was accused and arrested for trying to seize the power by force, create massive unrest and misappropriate of state property on October 20, 2005, APA reports.
