28 November 2006 [23:00] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of the Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

Adil Ismayilov a lawyer to Zakir Nasirov solicited to review the case taken as evidence.

It should be noted that, Haji Mammadov said that he gave the money got from Majid Mammadov's kidnapping in that case which was given to Nasirov.

The lawyer said that the importance of review is to check up whether it is possible to put that money into this case.

When the judge asked where we would take this money, the lawyer said we would ask Zamire Hajiyeva's lawyer Khanlar Hasanov to bring the money from the bank.

The judge did not allow the solicitation and stated that enough information had been given about the size and color of the case and there is no need to review it.

Then defendants expressed their views on the repeated documents and displayed video tape recordings.

First defendant Sidek Abdulvahabov expressed his attitude to the video tape recording of the confrontation between Nishad Ismayilov and Elshen Mirzayev. "During the confrontation I said that Nishad and Elshen had participated in some criminal cases. I cast aspersion on them; they did not take part in any of my criminal cases. These shots are documental films; I had been prepared before that confrontation," he said.

Kamil Sedreddinov said that he gave testimony under the pressures and tortures. "During the shooting I was made read the written protocol. I appealed to some authorities about the tortures, but no one took it into consideration," he said.

Defendant Novruz Nuriyev said that healso gave testimony under the pressure. "I had no information about Rana's death. I was made to say all that after being beaten," he said.

Then Adil Ismayilov solicited and asked Maharram Aliyev and Zakir Garalov to give testimony in the trial. Ismayilov's solicitation will be discussed in the trial tomorrow.

The trial will be continued on November 29, APA reports.
