FILA refuses to mitigate Azerbaijani wrestler's punishment

23 November 2006 [15:45] - TODAY.AZ
FILA refused to mitigate the punishment of Azerbaijani wrestler Husameddin Rejebli, who was disqualified for two years because of found banned preparations in his blood.

Not taking into consideration the appeal of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, FILA found it necessary to serve his punishment.

As APA reports, the sportsman won Silver medal in world Greco-Roman Championship held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary last year.

But later Anti Doping Agency (WADA) examined his blood and it gave positive results. That is why his medal was given back and he was forbidden to participate in international and local competitions.

AWF appealed to FILA for reducing his punishment, but it gave no results.
