Azerbaijan rights defenders to participate in conference in Strasbourg

The aim of the conference to be held by Council of Europe is to discuss the problems and difficulties of right defenders and to determine concrete steps on the aid.

Representatives of 46 CE member states, civil societies and national institutes on human rights, PACE, European Court on Human Rights, international organizations and institutes, as well as UN, EU and OSCE Office for Democratic institutions and Human Rights will participate in the conference.

Eldar Zeynalov director of the Azerbaijani Rights Center told the APA that he and "Prison Reforms - Azerbaijan" NGO initiative group coordinator Zaliha Tahirova will take part in the conference. Right defenders are expected to hold meetings in PACE, European committee on Torture, European Court on Human Rights and other organizations.
