Akif Hajiyev: "Haji Mammadov wanted to retire"

Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of the Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

Rauf Babayev gave testimony closed on Azer Ismayilov's murder.

The former deputy chief of Interior Ministry Crime Investigatiion Department Akif Hajiyev gave testimony. "I worked there since April, 1995. I retired on my free will in 2005. When I came back from holiday Haji's chief Famil Abdullayev said that Haji had heart attack and he wants to retire after treatment. I said nothing to Kamil Sadraddinov about Haji," he said.

Answering Adil Ismayilov's questions Hajiyev said Mammadov had chief - employee relations with Nasirov. "I have not seen the chief like Zakir Nasirov during 10-12 years. He always consulted with somebody before doing something. I have seen Haji in Famil Abdullayev's party held on March 3, 2005. Zakir Nasirov did not take part in that party," he said.

Then Mammadov apologized to Hajiyev. "I will apologize to Azerbaijan people at the end of trial and I am ashamed of standing in front of you," he said.

Then Olga Mikhaylovna gave testimony. "During NSM's investigation I found out that I signed the documents for Haji Mammadov twice, but he himself took the money. There were cases that I signed for other employees too," she said, APA reports.
