Group of Ganja residents protesting police tyranny tried to burn themselves

26 October 2006 [12:42] - TODAY.AZ
A group of Ganja residents protesting police tyranny staged a picket outside of Ganja Police Department.

The picketers wanted to make appointment with Ganja Police Department Chief Gerib Hasanov, but they were not let. Then the protestors poured gasoline saying that they will burn themselves. They said that the police detain people by slandering and demanded to stop it. The police prevented the action, beat and arrested some of them. Ganja Police Department Deputy Chief Choban Huseynov told the APA that some hooligans wanted to violate the order. He said that the protesters were drunkard. "Their behaviors were documented and sent to the court," Huseynov said, APA western bureau reports.
