25 people died of drug and psychotropic substances in Azerbaijan

635 criminal cases out of 1873 registered ones in 2006 are drug selling crimes.

Within this period 462,679 kg narcotic and psychotropic substances and components, 34,720kg marijuana, 517 psychotropic pills, 10,8gr acetic anhydride, 0,53gr methadone, 7,880kg poppy was taken.

25 people died because of using these drugs without doctor's prescription. Over 376 tonnes illegal narcotic wild plants were found and burnt, State Commission Fighting Drug Addiction and Traffic told the APA.
