Arif Garashov: "Thousands hectares of land are illegally sold round Baku"

State Real Estate Registration Service (SRERS) chairman Arif Garashov gave a press conference on the activities during January-August.

He said 24 territorial departments (4 for the occupied lands) of the SRERS were set up in this period, APA reports.

"The SRERS are studying the lesson of Turkey, Moldova and Ireland and working together with the WB on the development of Real Estate Cadastre Project. The Project is under assessment now. Initial cast is $31.8mn of which $8mn is the portion of Azerbaijan."

He also said that the registration of the real estate ill be simplified.

"The laws have contradictions. A working group has been established to examine the laws. Some laws were amended. The bill on Cadastre will be developed and submitted to the President shortly."

Mr. Garashov expressed his dissatisfaction with the illegal sale of lands. He said local authorities are to blame and thousands hectares of land round Baku are being sold.
