385 military machines and 1600 tonnes of supplies withdrawn from Georgia delivered to Russia through Azerbaijan

The process of withdrawal of military equipment and weapons from Russian 62nd military base in Akhalkalak, Georgia is over under Sochi contract.

As APA reports, 25 echelons and 28 machine columns have been withdrawn from Georgia and delivered to Russia. A total358 machines and 1,600 tonnes of military supplies were withdrawn from Georgia and 375 machines 1,000 tonnes of supplies from Armenia.

The military machines include tanks, artillery, military trucks and automobiles.

The withdrawal of equipment from the military base in Batumi, Georgia, will end in October next year. The personnel of Akhalkalak base will leave next year. The military base in Batumi and Russian troops in the Transcaucasus will withdraw within 2008.

The military equipment and military supplies were pulled out from Akhalkalak in 19 echelons through Azerbaijan. Russian and Azerbaijani governments agreed on carrying the withdrawn military supplies through Azerbaijan. According to the agreement, Azerbaijan ensured security of the echelons in its territory.

The Russian government thanked to official Baku for its assistance to securely carrying the equipment.
