19 September 2006 [11:55] - TODAY.AZ
Niyazi Huseynov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Yeni Dushunje" ("New Thought"), which has suspended in Georgia, has appealed to Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.

The editor writes in the appeal that special forces of Georgian Interior Ministry attacked the editorial office of the newspaper and confiscated technical equipment in 2004, APA reports.

"They exerted physical pressure on my mother Yeter Huseynova and my brother Magsud Huseynov, who were in the office that time. The newspaper's money in the bank was confiscated. My brother Gajar Huseynov, correspondent of the "Yeni Dushunje", was arrested, and I was made be displaced from my native home. I ask you to punish the culprits, who put moral and physical pressure on my family, damaged the editorial office and made me become displaced. I want to come back to Georgia, resume the newspaper as well as defend the rights of Azerbaijanis and be involved in Georgian political life," the appeal reads.
