Floods forecasted in Azerbaijan

Incessant rains beginning from September 12 increased water level to 80-90cm in country's rivers.

Asif Verdiyev, Ecology and Natural Recourses Ministry National Hydrometeorology Department bureau head hydrologist told the APA there were short-term floods in Balaken and Sheki.

The maximum water level was recorded in Lenkeran and Astara rivers. Verdiyev said the floods are forecast soon, and relevant bodies have been informed about it.
