Sidek Abdulvahabov: "My brother is not guilty"

Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of the Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

26 members of the gang stand trial presided by judge Ali Seyfaliyev. Defendant Sidek Abdulvahabov responded to the questions of defendant Adalet Asadullayev's lawyer.

Public prosecutor solicited for announcing Vahabov's testimonies saying there are controversial nuances concerning his testimonies to the investigation and upon the trial on the participants of the crimes. Judge satisfied the solicitation.

Then the controversial nuances were announced.

Abdulvahabov did not confirm his testimonies given to the investigation on several crimes, including robbery in Malakan garden, housebreaking in Mehdiabad settlement and several other burglaries.

The defendant also said his brother Husain Abdulvahabov did not take part in any of the gang's crimes.

The trial will continue on 11 September. Defendant Aslanbek Kentamirov will testify upon the trial, APA reports.
