Within this program 22mn euros have been spent on implementation of various projects in Azerbaijan. Starting from 2007 this program will be replaced by Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument, a Program in Azerbaijan. The new program will spend much more on the projects.
This program will be carried out within the action plan to be concluded between Azerbaijan and the EU.
Wolfgang Sporrer said that the action plan has already been developed and the document will be signed in Baku by this year’s end.
He briefed that the new program will bring about a new cooperation- twining mechanism. He said that this mechanism was a success in new EU members-Bulgaria and Romania. He said that TACIS will be replaced by Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument in other South Caucasian Countries and Ukraine and Belarus.
The EU will administer other programs in Russia and Central Asian Countries from 2007, APA reports.
