Smugglers gang neutralized in Azerbaijan

Jalilabad residents Mehdiyev Afgan Khanoghlan and Mehdiyev Munasib Khanoghlan, Ganja resident Velikhanov Neriman Kamil were detained in Jalilabad, NSM public affairs center told the APA.

In the car belonging to M. Mehdiyev NSM officers found 15 kg hashish and 2, 878 kg heroine. Additional 85, 5 gr. of heroine were found in E. Mehdiyev rented apartment. These drugs were brought to the country by wanted Iran citizens Nadir and Jalil from Azerbaijan-Iran border in Jalilabad. M. Mehdiyev had to hand the drug to E. Mehdiyev and Velikhanov. He was neutralized though tried to escape. His companions were also detained. They decided to take drugs first to Ganja and then to Russia and Georgia. A criminal case was launched in NSM Investigation Office on the Criminal Code 206.4; 234.4.1; 234.4.3 articles.

NSM stated that the information about dying one person in the skirmish during the operation in mass media is false.
