South Azerbaijan Independence Party urges Iranian Azeris to boycott this academic year

South Azerbaijan Independence Party (SAIP) has called on Iranian Azeris to boycott the new academic year, Saleh Ildirim.

On the appeal Azerbaijanis were asked to boycott schools as a protest to Persian chauvinism, APA reports.

"Iran government prevents 35 million Azerbaijanis from getting education in their mother tongue. They arrest thousand of our compatriots for this. Azerbaijanis must protest against Iranian government policy and restore their rights," he said.

Protestor were asked to gather at "Bazar Aghzi" square in Tabriz, "Amozesh" and "Perverish" squares in Urmia on September 24. Like protest actions were said to be held in other Iranian cities where Azerbaijanis live.
