Ukraine thrash Azerbaijan 6-0 in Euro 2008 warm-up

Despite missing several players from their World Cup squad, including captain Andriy Shevchenko, Ukraine found the net four times before halftime against the hapless Azeries, Reuters informs.

Andriy Voronin, Serhiy Nazarenko, Ruslan Rotan and Oleg Gusev were on target in the opening half while Andriy Vorobei and Olexiy Belik added two more after the interval.
Ukraine, beaten by Italy in the World Cup in Germany, open their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign at home to Georgia on Sept. 6. Azerbaijan travel to Serbia four days earlier.
