Baku Police Department's Task Squad given to Interior Ministry

The Task Squad of Baku Police Department will be subordinate to the Interior Ministry.

APA reports quoting sources in law-enforcement bodies. The Interior Ministry press service official Ehsan Zahidov confirmed the information. He said delivery of the Task Squad to the subordination of the Interior Ministry have some reasons.

"This Squad as part of regular police unit is responsible for taking urgent actions to preserve public order, fighting crimes, neutralizing terrorists, armed criminals, gangs of robbers. These functions are important not only in Baku but in the whole country. On the other hand, it is important to operate all task squads from a united center. In this context, it was necessary to give this regiment to the Interior Ministry," Zahidov said.

He also said chief of the regiment Rza Hajiyev remained in his post.

However, a source in the law-enforcement bodies said to the APA Hajiyev will be appointed chair Sabunchu district police office soon.
