Azeris arrested for taking Moscow resident hostage

28 July 2006 [19:31] - TODAY.AZ
Moscow prosecutor's office launched a criminal case against four Azerbaijanis, who were engaged in trade in the Russian capital.

They are facing charges of taking 20-year-old Russian citizen hostage and demanding 10 thousand rubles for releasing him, APA informs.

Two weeks ago, our compatriots detained one of two Russians who stole watermelons from them and handed over him to militia asking the other to pay 10 thousand rubles for the damage.

When the 20-year-old thief refused to pay money, Azerbaijanis tied him to a tree. But he could escape in the evening. He complained to the militia saying Azerbaijanis took him hostage. As a result, our compatriots were arrested.
