APA reports that 8 buildings were destroyed completely in operation. Owners of illegal buildings tried to prevent the operation but about 100 policemen kept public order.
The head of operation, Public Security Office chair lieutenant-colonel Shamil Sayidli told that the buildings were destroyed by behest of Baku Mayor's Office.
He said that 91 buildings were illegally constructed in the territory in 2005, the number reached 226 in 2006. Moreover, there are 4 cottages were placed in this territory.
"Illegal building stopped since April but 8 illegal houses were built in the past week. Policemen enabling them to build the houses will be held accountable."
IDPs and refugees chiefly built the illegal houses there. The house owners told APA that because their families are larger now, they can’t live in hostels they were settled 10-12 years ago. They say that they are ready to go to their homelands if the occupied lands are liberated.
