257 female prisoners in Azerbaijan

"There are 257 female prisoners in Azerbaijan at present, 27 of them are citizens of neighboring countries," Justice Ministry Court Awards Execution Main Office Detention Place chief for Women, Muzaffar Mammadov has told journalists.

According to him, 230 of women prisoners are citizens of Azerbaijan, 10 of Russia, 6 of Georgia, 4 of Ukraine, 2 of Uzbekistan, 1 of Kazakhstan, 1 of Kyrgyzstan, 1 of Turkey, 1 of Iran, 1 of Moldova.

According to APA, Mammadov stated that 5 persons stay in Detention Place with their children.

The detention Place's chief stated women prisoners being between 18 to 72 ages. According to him, majority of these women have been imprisoned for roguishness, drugs and murders.
