Some subway stations in Baku to be renamed

Some underground stations in the Azerbaijani capital will be renamed by fall.

The Mayor's Office of Baku has approved relevant proposals presented by the Baku Subway Department, AssA-Irada reports.

The Department suggests renaming the Baki Soveti station downtown Baku into Ichari Shahar (Old City), while Bakmil (train depot) into "Aliagha Shikhlinsky" or "Koroghlu".

The construction of the new Nasimi subway station in the 6th district near the Zarifa Aliyeva Park will be completed by the fall of 2008, the Department said.
