Georgian TU-134 made emergency landing in Baku

President of Georgian National Airlines Giorgi Kodua categorically rules out any technical problems during the Almaty-Tbilisi flight.

The airplane of Georgian National Airlines TU-134 carried out an emergency landing in Baku while conducting Almaty-Tbilisi flight with 48 passengers on Wednesday.

Kodua told InterpressNews that unplanned landing was held due to poor weather conditions. "There were bad meteorological conditions during the flight – strong wind and thunder. The crew arrived at a decision of landing in Baku for security concerns. Passengers stayed in Baku airport for three hours and then, flew to Tbilisi," Kodua elucidated.

President of Georgian National Airlines categorically refused that there was any glitch onboard. He said that flyers could get convinced about it themselves, as they saw no repairs or checks conducted on the plane, after it landed in Baku.
