Judge canditates learn from international experience

Such a meeting was held on June 27 within the framework of the project co-implemented by the Ministry of Justice and European Public Law Center. Chairman of the Administrative Court of First Instance Papapanagiotou and officer of the Center E. Liristi delivered lectures on independence of judges in the modern society at the Legal Training Center of the Ministry.

Upon completion of the event, foreign experts met with Togrul Musayev, Deputy Justice Minister, member of the Board of Directors of the European Public Law Center.

Deputy Minister pointed to the successful implementation of the project, stressing the director of the center, Prof. S. Flogaitis's active role in this matter. He told of the concrete actions taken to fulfill President Ilham Aliyev's decree of 19 January 2006 on modernization of the judicial system.

The visitors expressed satisfaction with their involvement in teaching the judge candidates. On behalf of the leadership of the European Public Law Center, the delegation invited Deputy Minister to the upcoming meeting of the Board of Directors scheduled for September this year.

Greek specialists delivered lectures to the judges of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, AzerTAg reports.
