Protesting students' parents joined the action

Independent Azerbaijan University students going on hunger strike today have held a press conference.

In the press conference America Lawyers Association lawyer against corruption issues, Robert Aysman also participated.

Robert Aysman said that he highly appreciates the meeting between Ministry of Education and the students based on agreement. He said that the Ministry will take possible steps after the completing of the Court process.

He added that education rights restoration of the II year students is not within the responsibility of Education Ministry.

Students Rights Defense Committee chairman Elnur Mammadov said that Ministry of Education intends to restore the rights of I, III and IV year course students.

These students will be transferred to other private higher schools. The number of those schools is 4 and the Ministry of Education will announce their names on 10 July. 36 of 370 students studying in the II course will be transferred to other higher schools.

Education Ministry department chief Ilham Pirmammadov stated those students; entering the university in illegal way and that's why not any decision will be made on them. Though the problem of majority has been solved, we will continue until all the students rights restored. Court will be applied related to the issues of Ministry of Education and IAU leadership next week.

II year student Aynur Gurbanova said that she will claim the rector of the university Abbas Mustafayev. It should be noted that from this day, parents of the students going on hunger strike have joined the action. Gurbanova said that parents will only join the students in the daytime. At night they will continue hunger strike at home.
