Rector of the Baku Asia University Jalil Naghiyev stated that they have not raised the tuition at all. Simply, the tuition fees were shown in dollar in the magazine "Abituriyent" last year but in new manat of Azerbaijan this year.
"The raise in tuition is due to the difference between dollar and manat," the Rector said.
Naghiyev, however, does not hope the current tuition payments will remain stable. He thinks the payments can change depending on the developments.
The Baku Girls University stated that tuition has not been raised.
"We have shown the payments in manat this year. However, it was shown in dollar last year. Therefore, the tuition seems to be raised."
The reason of raised tuition in the Odlar Yurdu University is related to the quality of education. The university Rector Ahmad Valiyev told that they have increased tuition fees by 10%-15% in comparison with last year. He explained this by the high quality education given by the university. The Rector thinks high level education demands high tuition fees.
"We need to invite foreign specialists to the university to raise the image, which needs financial allocation," Valiyev said.
The Azerbaijan International University Rector Elshad Abdullayev told to that they have not raised tuition fees. He noted the tuition has not been raised at the university in the past three years. However, the Rector said this issue might be reconsidered in two or three months.
The Khazar University Rector Hamlet Isakhanli also said the tuition had not been raised for this year, APA reports.
