She said school graduates, who finished secondary schools and technical schools this year, can present their documents to document admission commissions (DAC) in their cities and regions every day from June 25 till July 10. The previous graduates can present their documents in the period between June 25 and July 5.
Ms.Abbaszadeh also said that students will be admitted to 25,629 vacancies (28,785 last year) in 27 state-owned and 13 private higher schools. 22,479 vacancies are in the state-owned higher schools and 3150 private higher schools. 16,417 of them are Azerbaijani sections, 2681 Russian and 6,531 on joint competition.
For the 2006-2007 academic years, students will be admitted to study 261 majors. 127 majors are in the 1st group of major, 35 in the 2nd , 69 in the 3rd , 24 in the 4th and 9 in the 5th group. Students will be admitted to two new majors, management (in tourism) and tourism and socio-cultural service in the Azerbaijan Tourism Institute this year.
Foreign citizens can present their documents to the DAC in the SSAC, Georgian Azerbaijanis to the DAC in Gazakh city educational department and Azerbaijanis living in Dagestan to the DAC in the Gusar region educational department.
School graduates willing to enter to majors requiring special talent are to be registered at the higher schools they want to enter from June 25 till 30. These exams will be conducted from June 28 till July 8.
The Commission head entrants can call on 141 to ask any questions regarding the document admission procedure from June 25. Abbaszadeh also said tuition fees for paid majors in state-owned higher schools have not changed but those in the private higher schools have changed noting that she does not know the reason, APA reports.
