12 June 2006 [08:37] - TODAY.AZ
US Embassy officials visited Independent Azerbaijan University (IAU) students on hunger-strike.

According to APA, Elvin Huseynov, Automobile Transport Department student, told that students were asked about causes and requirements of their strike. Embassy officials have told that they will do their best to reach the solution of their problem.

Elvin Huseynov has also added that five of the students felt extremely bad and fell into a faint this morning. Emergency Hospital doctors were sent for this. Doctors took those 5 students to hospital immediately.

Khalid Hajiyev, another IAU student, has told that the police are gathered around the university building since yesterday. They do not allow students off strike to enter the building and those who came to exam are sent to I building of the university.

Aynur Gurbanova, who is treated in the hospital, says that the university directorial board will probably take a subversive activity. She supposes that both policemen around the building and others have told them not to break windows.

"We have never told we will break windows. That they warn us about it tells about their subversive intention."

Gurbanova has told that more than 70 students still go on hunger-strike. It is 11th day IAU students are on strike.
