"Fuji Optical" renders ophthamologic assistance to refugees

The Japanese "Fuji Optical" has rendered ophthalmologic assistance to families of the refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan, as well as the vulnerable people, has distributed eyeglasses to over 1300 people.

The company is a producer of ophthalmologic equipment and has been rendering such assistance in Azerbaijan since 2005. Head of the Company Akio Kanai has visited the refugee families last year in Baku, Sabirabad, Hajigabul and Absheron. And such assistance was rendered in Baku, Yevlakh, Sheki, as well as Agjabedi regions current year, since May 17, AzerTAg informs.

Since 1981, the Company has realized 24 projects over the world, Akio Kanai told a news conference. And on the initiative of UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the Company distributed specified eyeglasses in the Republic, he said.

Head of the Program Department of the UNHCR Azerbaijan Representation Ms. Amra Nuhbegovich expressed gratitude for humanitarian assistance and state that Akio Kanai was nominated to international Prize for charity activities.
