Akram Aylisli: "I have decided to leave Azerbaijan Writers Union"

24 May 2006 [18:49] - TODAY.AZ
"After reading his articles I realized that this man is breathing with the air of 1937. So, Anar has to and is doomed to rule the Writers Union in that air. He has no other choice," said writer Akram Aylisli.

He told APA, commenting on his conflict with head of the Azerbaijan Writers Union, that Anar and his words will live until the society does not realize what really happened in 1937.

"Anar is likely to be elected to the Writers Union in 2009 'unanimously”' Let him be. I will not have to answer his allegations. Because these allegations base on mere Soviet style. If you want to be sure you need to carefully read his allegations against me and my statements on him," the writer said.

Aylisli said that Anar wrote denunciation of him to 'mass of people' with the same style in 2003. Aylisli wants to publicize his poem addressed to Anar.

"I wrote a poem 'Response to Satan's nonsense' and sent one copy to Anar. I want to publicize this poem now," the writer said.

Aylisli also noted that he is determined to leave the Writers Union after that.

"The reason is not only that I feel offended being the member of this union. Because, Anar can interpret my every criticism addressed to the Writers Union in one meaning only. He always interprets my critical words in a way as if I want to chair the Union. I cannot tolerate the caprices of literature swindler who has been chairing the union for 19 years," the writer underlined.

APA has appealed to Anar and Aylisli for organizing dispute between them to make clear the conflict between the two writers. Though Akram Aylisli agreed to participate in the dispute, Anar refused. The head of the Writers Union said he does not want to come face to face with Aylisli.
