Match between national football teams of Moldova and Azerbaijan ended in a goalless draw May 18 in Chisinau. The match was seen as a build-up to the European championship qualification matches.

Senior coach Shahin Diniyev included the following players in the squad: goalie Farhad Veliyev, Azer Mammadov, Aftandil Hajiyev, Sergey Sokolov (defeders), Aslan Karimov, Emin Imameliyev, Elmar Bakhshaliyev, Ramazan Abbasov, Jeyhun Sultanov (midfielders), Elshan Mammadov and Farrukh Ismayilov (forwards).

Azerbaijan team were also held by Moldova to a 0:0 draw last year in Baku. In preparation for the group European championship qualification matches, Azerbaijan drew 0:0 and 1:1 in two previous friendly matches with Ukraine and Turkey respectively, AzerTAg reports.
