Armenia proves its aggressive policy destroying natural resources of occupied lands

07 April 2006 [14:45] - TODAY.AZ
Destruction of forests at the occupied by Armenian Azerbaijani territory shows real intentions of the Armenian politics, the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister, Huseyn Bagirov told at the press-conference April 7.

Documents confirming this fact will be prepared in several languages and present to the world community soon.

Besides, Armenian occupants also pollute the water resources, including rivers passing through the occupied territory. "This shows the absolute lack of civilized approach to these lands," the Minister said.

Most destroyed trees cut down from the territory of the Zangillan national park, which was also occupied by Armenia. They are exported to Italy, France, Greece and Iran where they are used for furniture production ship building.

"Platan trees growing in the national park are included into the Azerbaijani Red Book." They are also included into the Armenian Red Book, that is why platens growing on Armenian territories are left untouched. The initial territory of the national park was 117 Hectares it was later reduced to 107 H.

Special operative center was set by the Ministry to gather the information about the negative influence on the occupied lands. They already possess large number of relevant materials, Trend reports.
