29 March 2006 [08:34] - TODAY.AZ
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (MCIT) prepared an action plan to prevent interference of foreign TV and radio channels in the broadcasting zone of Azerbaijan.

According to APA, impact opportunities of Iran TV-channels violating the broadcasting zone of Azerbaijan in the south region have already been investigated. Journalists were informed about it by the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov.

"Claims will be set up for private and state TV and radio companies soon. Protection of the broadcasting zone of Azerbaijan depends on those companies, too. Private companies weakly use channels and frequencies allocated for them and it leads to emptiness in the broadcasting zone. As a result, it becomes easy for foreign channels to interfere in our broadcasting zone", - Mr.Abbasov said.

According to the Minister, weakness of transmitters and channels is related to the number of factors. MCIT will use a special map for this purpose.

Mr.Abbasov also noted that a proposal of a new digital TV company was expected. The Minister said that this company would be granted a special license and concessions.
