31 January 2006 [05:38] - TODAY.AZ
Residents of Kalinin village of Gardabani in Georgia where Azerbaijanis live have held a protest action against land distribution.

As APA informs, residents say those obtained arable lands of the village didn't consider the demand of the residents; as a result, they are landless.

Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Gardabani told that he'd negotiated with leadership of "Birlik" Limited Liability Company and come to agreement on distribution of 200 hectare land of the company to the residents.

"Besides, it is resolved to distribute 380 hectare land in the territory of village Assembly among the residents, to give the pasture to the residents and to distribute 0.5 hectare land to every family. But, dissatisfaction still remains. We have been informed that Kalinin residents want "Birlik", headed by Sayavush Mammadov and other, to be destroyed and lands to be distributed. Under the law, it can not be done without permission of the leadership".
