New facts on the case of Haji Mammadov revealed in the investigation

As APA reports according to the GPO press service, some other crimes committed by the gang and secret for many years were discovered and revealed.

At about 11.00 on October 21, 1998, unknown people attacked the car marked VAZ-21099 at Suleyman Rustam av.,52 in Baku in order to rob $201,000 belonging to "Baku International". The police officer Arzu Ahmadov was wounded then. But the gang members saw the crowd gathering there and failed to realize their purposes and ran away. It has been made clear that this crime was committed by gang headed by Haji Mammadov.

It became clear that in October, 1998 Haji Mammadov decided to rob the automobile marked VAZ-21099 with state number 10 DS 472 carrying money to "Baku International". He came to agreement with Ukushev Ruslan Khaydarbekovich, Dabuyev Musa Bagayevich and other 4 unidentified people who were Chechen by origin for purpose of realizing his robbery plan. The operation was worked out together with gang members Nizami Abdullayev and Farhad Mammadbayov.

Under the plan, one of gang member had to collide his car marked Moskvich with the VAZ-21099 in order to show as if traffic accident had happened. Musa Dabuyev and three other gang members armed with pistol marked "Makarov" had to be waiting nearby in the car marked Jiguli. Further they had to attack the car to rob the money. As aforementioned, the plan was failed.

Some more criminal activities of the gang headed by Haji Mammadov have been revealed. It has been made clear that Haji Mammadov planned kidnapping of the Chief of Central office of Azerbaijan International Bank Anar Sultanov in 2002. For this purpose, he invited gang members- Musa Dabuyev, Aslambek Chintamirov, Nizami Abdullayev and Eldar Rahimov to the house belonging to Naila Guliyeva, located in Keshle settlement. Haji Mammadov instructed gang members to follow Anar Sultanov and to be aware of his route and schedule. He promised each of them 20% of money from the ransom. Furthermore, Haji Mammadov gave 2 pistols marked "Makarov" to Aslambek Chintamirov and 1 pistol to Musa Dabuyev, he also gave them a sack to put on the head of hostage and a handcuff. Besides, in order not to attract the attention of the people around and for conspiration, Naila Guliyeva gave Musa Dabuyev a black woman coat and light color wig.

Under the plan, Nizami Abdullayev had to wait for Anar Sultanov in front of the building he worked and to notify Eldar Rahimov of Sultanov's leaving by mobile phone. Eldar Rahimov together with Musa Dabuyev and Aslambek Chintamirov had to wait for Anar Sultanov next to his house in the car marked VAZ-2106. After the kidnapping, they had to take the hostage to Naila Guliyeva’s appartment in Keshle settlement.

Musa Dabuyev and Aslambek Chintamirov in a car marked VAZ 2106 driven by Eldar Rahimov came to the hospital #6, known as "Kaspar hospital" (next to "Olimp" store), at about 20:00 on the fixed day and were waiting for the telephone call of Nizami Abdullayev.

However, the gang member failed to fulfill the operation. Thus, while Musa Dabuyev, Aslambek Chintamirov and Eldar Rahimov were waiting in the car the associates of the police patrol came up to them and required their documents. Though Eldar Rahimov got out of the car and showed his police card to the policemen they insisted on checking the car. Observing the events from a distant with Naila Guliyeva, Haji Mammadov came up to the policemen and after talking with them for some minutes he ordered Eldar Rahimov to go away together with Musa Dabuyev and Aslambek Chintamirov. Haji Mammadov refused carrying out the plan fearing of being exposed later on.

The investigation actions and operation-searching measures are underway.
