Emin Shahbazov: "I assure the population that they can use eggs, local birds and fowl without any fear"

So far, 7 monitoring have been held to identify the existence of Bird Flu infection in Azerbaijan.

On January 30, the 8th monitoring is considered to be conducted. Deputy chairman of State Veterinary Service (SVS) at Ministry of Agriculture, Emin Shahbazov has told at a news conference held yesterday.

According to his words, director of Reference Institute of Cairo was also in the composition of the experts group of Control over the Diseases Station from USA, which visited Azerbaijan last week.

He once again confirmed holding of examinations right and he stated that, no Bird Flu exists in Azerbaijan. E.Shahbazov said that, some press organs write that the samples of dead birds in Masalli were sent to Cairo for analyze, but relevant organizations of the city refused analyzing the samples and sent them back to Azerbaijan.

The deputy chief said that, this information is false and those samples have not been sent to Cairo: "The samples will be sent to Cairo by the assistance of the US Embassy in our country on 12-14 February." Special hardware for testing and 1500 special uniforms will be brought to Azerbaijan from the US soon.

E.Shahbazov assures the population that, they can use eggs, local birds and fowl without any fear: "You can not doubt about that, because, all of the local poultry farms work in closed conditions. The employees of these farms are forbidden to keep birds. The owners of the poultry farms pay compensations to them for that."

E.Shahbazov also underlined that, no bird flues virus exists in Azerbaijan at present. However, this problem might appear in spring: "The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and ornithologists arrived at a conclusion that, birds of passage don’t pass Azerbaijan in such weather, they move to the south mainly. A problem might appear in spring. However, birds of passage will not stay long in Azerbaijan at that time."
