Report of Azerbaijani government concerning "Convention on the Children's Rights" heard in Geneva today

Azerbaijani Delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov participates in the 41st session of the UN Committee on the Children's Rights started on January 9 in Geneva.

As APA reports, Tahir Taghizadeh, head of Press and Information Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told that reports of Azerbaijani government on "The UN Convention on the Children's Rights" concerning 2nd and 3rd terms were listened at the session today.

In 1992 Azerbaijan joined the Convention adopted in 1989. Coordination Council consisting of representatives of 12 ministries and committees, about 30 NGOs were set up for protection of the Rights of Children on the basis of international legal norms.

Composition of the delegation participating in Geneva at present includes the members of aforesaid Coordination Council.
