Level of Kur is falling from today

19 January 2006 [04:32] - TODAY.AZ
Level of the Kur has fallen by 5 cm in the territory of Sabirabad as the volume of water flowing from Mingechevir Water Reservoir was diminished.

The level will fall in the part of the river running through Salyan and Neftchala, APA reports.

Department chief of Hydrology Forecasts Bureau of National Hydro-metrology Department of Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev told that, the level of the Kur has risen in Salyan by 60 cm and in Neftchala by 30 cm.

According to A.Verdiyev, the reason for level rise in the river is not recent rains but the increase of water turned on from Mingechevir Water Reservoir. But the water has already been diminished for some days. The Water Reservoir turned on 600 cubic meters per sec to the Kur in January; it is 556 cubic meter now.
