Azerbaijani section to be opened in New York Museum of Natural History

APA was informed by the press service of the State Committee on Azerbaijanis Living Abroad (SCALA) that, the committee implements relevant measures in this direction. It should be mentioned that, the New York Museum of Natural History contains information corner about different world nations but no section about Azerbaijan.

The press service informed that, there is no information even in the sections on the history of Turks, Islamic world, the Caucasus nations and former USSR republics.

As the result of the talks held between the SCALA and the administration of the museum, to stage an interim exhibition about Azerbaijan was decided at the initial stage. The exhibition will further be preserved and enlarged in the museum.

The committee administration conducted discussions with the Culture Ministry of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan State History Museum for the opening of Azerbaijani section and agreement was achieved for purchasing necessary exhibits.

The associates of SCALA are in the US to complete the technical measures related to the opening of the exhibition.
