Ministry of Ecology plans to lift ban on hunting fowlings in Azerbaijan

"The Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural resources Ministry addressed to the State Veterinary Service to consider raising of the ban imposed on fowling due to bird flu," said Sadagat Mammadova, head of a division in the Ministry of Ecology.

According to Mammadova, the prolongation of the ban will depend on a conclusion of the Veterinary Service. "Russia and Turkey have lifted the ban on fowling. It is not excluded that Azerbaijan will also take similar step, as the Veterinary Service has not revealed existence of bird flu in the country," she added.

On November 11 the Ministry decided to prolong the ban till mid-December.
