Azeri pop stars will perform at concert dedicated to World AIDS Day

On December 7, 2005 the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Azerbaijan and a local NGO Initiative for the Sake of Development will commemorate the World AIDS week by organizing a concert Unite for Children, Unite Against AIDS.

Azerbaijan pop singers will perform at the concert and it will be broadcasted live by Lider channel as part of the TV program dedicated to AIDS problem in the country.

UNICEF believes that children affected by the disease are the "missing face" of AIDS – missing not only from global and national policy discussions on HIV/AIDS, but also lacking access to even the most basic care and prevention services.
