18 922 834 sq m territory cleared from mines so far

516 468 sq meters of territory was cleared from mines and unexploded military munitions (PHS) in August this year.22 demining dogs,138 sappers,15 PHS operators, 8 paramedics and about 100 assistants were involved in the mine action.
According to the information given to APA from the National Agency of Mine Action (ANAMA), 18 922 834 sq m territory have been cleared from mines so far.6.495 mines and PHS have been rendered harmless.96.302 sq m were prepared for mine action by mechanical way in August.65 mines exploded since September, 2001. As the result, 43 persons died, 73 were wounded.
